Ffestiniog Railway locomotive number 2 'Prince' stands alongside C2 number 4 in its new shed, on 3rd May 2010. Prince' is the oldest working narrow-gauge steam locomotive in the world, and was built in 1863 to haul slate. Number 4 is probably the last narrow-gauge steam locomotive built for industrial use, being built in 1988 to haul limestone. These two locomotives represent the extremes of a 125-year period of narrow-gauge steam development. - Graham Bond 3/05/2010
